This sightseeing tour starts from the port of Argostoli and follows the scenic Fanari coastal road between Lassi and Argostoli with photo stops at the Katavothres Water Wheels and the Lighthouse. The tour continues through the resort area of Lassi and the beautiful Livathos villages to the beautiful village of Kourkoumelata, arguably the most beautiful, picturesque, superb and impressive village you can find in Kefalonia. Kourkoumelata is hugely considered as the crown jewel among the villages in Kefalonia perhaps because of its unrivaled beauty and color. It boasts of colorful structures, gardens, impressive town planning and street layout. Some of the best views of the island and of neighbouring island Zante can be seen from the traditional village of Katsro. The village lies on a hill above the valley of Livathos and leads up to the Venetian fortress of St. George built in the sixteenth century (Visit inside – Optional) . The area around the Castle is well worth exploring with remains of pre-earthquake village houses and the remains of the medieval church of Evangelistria built in 1420. The remains of the church of St. Theodori are located south west of the castle and this church may well be even older than Evangelistria. Our trip continues to “En Kefallinia" organic farm, an authentic place wrapped in citrus trees and gardens. You will walk among lavender path and feel the forgotten pleasures of the countryside while you will enjoy your cold or hot tea and homemade sweets (included). You may also find available handcrafted bio-products, ready to travel and reveal a pure delight, back at your home table! We continue back to Argostoli and the famous Koutavos Lagoon, which lies at the head of Argostoli Bay and is a nature reserve for wildlife, including the Caretta Turtle and various waterfowl. We'll then travel along the coastal road, passing in front of De Bosset Bridge, before returning back to the ship.
