DESCRIPTION
Set off on a scenic drive through the lush Greek countryside rich with vineyards, olive orchards, and cypress groves. Cross the breathtaking slopes of Mt. Ainos, one of the highest peaks in Greece, en route to the shores of Lake Melissani.
Here you will descend a manmade tunnel to the water's edge where you will board a small rowboat for a scenic cruise around the majestic cavern, which once yielded ancient relics from a former Minoan culture, including figures of the god Pan and several nymphs. View dramatic stalactites and stalagmites that border its aquamarine waters.
Take in the awe-inspiring beauty that surrounds you as shafts of sunlight filter from above, enhancing the vibrant colors of the glistening lake.
Continue your journey to majestic Drogarati Cave, located nearly 200 feet below the surface.
Discovered 300 years ago when an earthquake exposed the entrance, this spectacular two million-year-old cavern features stunning rock formations (enhanced by hidden lighting) and a magnificent hall called "Sala of Apotheosis".
The acoustics in this hall are so perfect the cave is used for concerts and other shows!
On the way back, snap some postcard-worthy photos from the top of the hill of Myrtos Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world for its exotic sceneries and its wild beauty.
