Razing whole towns and villages, the earthquake of 1953 destroyed much of the island’s Venetian architectural roots. And yet some areas were spared, left intact in tribute to Kefalonia’s venerable history and as a way for visitors to get a taste of the centuries’ old Kefalonia. Erissos, one of those areas is characterized by mountains, rolling hills covered with olive and impressive cypress trees, outstanding Venetian architecture, stunning views and.....beautiful beaches!!

From Germenata Village a ten minute walk through cypresses and olive trees leads you to the stunning all white pebbly Kimilia beach with it’s crystalline, blue waters.
Continuing north, we head to another two hidden treasures, Alaties and St.Jerousalem Beach. Both are small beaches, covered in white pebbles with turquoise waters and surrounded by rocks on each side.
Your next swimming experience will be unique as you will feel like you’re swimming right to the edge of a lush green forest when you take a dip in Foki Beach. Beautiful aquamarine waters lap up to sparkling white pebbles that in turn are covered by the shade of many trees. The views are amazing and it is worth to take a walk down the beach and visit the twin caves.
The colorful houses with the narrow balconies blended with the beautiful sceneries of the mountain and the sea creates a spectacular atmosphere to enjoy your drink or your meal in any of unique bars or restaurants when we end up in Fiscardo .
